The work of Serhiy Hai represents “his great painting” in its purest form. The author is a master of large laconic compositions. Usually, they are constructed using two or three dominant colors, but they are nuanced in tone and motion, like leavs in the wind. The works take the forms of red-colored leaves and emerald-green lights, which ignite the entire work. There are so many refined shades: from black and warm brown to thick ultramarine and light faded lemon, which is cold like the reflection of the sun in freshwater springs. The beautiful surface of the canvas is moveable and it is as if the viewer is witnessing the writing of a letter. There exists the fading aura of a stained-glass window in the works of Hai. For those who have the ability to look and see, this is a color treasure, an indescribable joy.
