Volodymyr Bohuslavskyi
Volodymyr Boguslavskyi has chosen the formal aesthetics of European Postmodernism with its refined and decorative geometrized experiments. The seemingly dry and too rational system has rewarded the artist with a unique opportunity to dive into a closed ephemeral world, isolated from disasters and disappointments of the real world. Postmodern quotations allow referring to time-tested themes of the world classics, adapting them to the set of codes and symbols of contemporary art. Concentration, contemplation and silence are the tools of an artist pursuing the goal to find a balance between life and art. In the shimmering solar-moonlight glow of Volodymyr Boguslavskyi’s landscapes and still lifes a commonplace reality turns into a metaphor of philosophical categories of eternal human thinking about the meaning of life and the true scale of values.
